Welcome to Ben Franklin Elementary School

August 20, 2019

Parents, Guardians and Students,

On behalf of the staff at Ben Franklin Elementary School, our Administrative Team would like to say “Hello” and Welcome Back in preparation for the 2019-20 school year!  We hope you are enjoying your summer and at the same time, preparing for school to begin.

We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you and know that in order for children to be successful they need support from both the school and home.  As partners, we share the responsibility for our students’ success and will do our best to carry out our responsibilities to ensure they achieve their highest potential possible. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning and preparation for school by ensuring that he/she:

  1. Attend school daily and arrive on time (8:15am doors/gates open for breakfast)

  2. Complete all homework assignments

  3. Comply to the school expectations and follow the 3 R’s (Respectful, Responsible, & Ready)

  4. Read daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills

  5. Share school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life

  6. Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school

  7. Is dressed appropriately per the School District Dress Code (see attached)

  8. Is aware that our school day is 8:45am -3:35pm (doors open at 8:15am for breakfast)

The importance of doing all of the above will make a huge impact on your child’s overall academic achievement!

On August 26th which is the first day of school, students will enter the building in the following manner:

  • Kindergarten students enter through the outside gym door (door #2)

1st – 4th grade students enter through the outside gate at the playground

Again, we look forward to partnering with you and having a great school year!
