Dear Parents, Guardians, and Friends,

Welcome back, we missed you!

I hope you have enjoyed many summer activities! I hope that your child is
excited about returning to school! The Ben Franklin Elementary School staff welcomes your child and or children to the 2019-20 school year. We have done a lot of planning and preparing for the school year.  The first day of school starts at 8:45 am., on Monday, August 26, 2019 and ends promptly at 3:35 pm.

I will start by introducing myself. My name is Will Towson and I am your principal. I am looking forward to meeting new faces and revisiting familiar ones. I am beginning my 7th year at Ben Franklin and I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with your children! Angel Doyle, assistant principal will begin her 5th year at Ben Franklin and Nicole Snook, Assistant principal will begin her 1st year as an administrator at Ben Franklin. We work together collaboratively with two goals in mind. We want learning to be fun and our students to soar academically.

I would like to thank the secretarial and custodial staff for working very hard this summer to ensure that our supplies arrived, and the building is clean, as well as safe for our students. I also appreciate and value the endless hours our teachers have spent to create child center classrooms and meaningful learning experiences for your children.

On the first day of school, your child should arrive at 8:15 am and report directly to the playground and his/her teacher will be there waiting. Breakfast and lunch will be served to all of our students free of charge.  Kindergarten students will meet in the gymnasium. We will begin serving breakfast at 8:30 am.

Your child will receive very two important sources of information: (1) parent-student handbook, (2) emergency medical form. Please return the medical form on Tuesday, August 27, 2019

We look forward to seeing your child on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 8:15 am.

If you have any concerns about any aspect of your child’s schooling, feel free to
contact the teacher, a guidance counselor, assistant principals or me. We welcome your inquiries.
